Why would I travel 2,806 miles across the country and leave my work, my family and my home for five whole days? This is why…
This weekend I had the honor and pleasure to be a part of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition‘s IINLive series conference.
Joshua Rosenthal, Founder, Director, and Primary Teacher of Integrative Nutrition once again created a dynamic balance of motivating testimonials, exciting cutting- edge technology, inspiring wellness-related films, pioneering research and activism, hands-on coaching practice and heartfelt movement. Here’s a glimpse at the highlights from my weekend with Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Want to join us next time? Learn more
This exclusive conference gave us access to leading experts and pioneers in health and nutrition, Neal Barnard MD (founder and president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) and president of The Cancer Project), Joy Bauer (nutrition and health expert for the Today Show), Marion Nestle (Paulette Goddard Professor of Nutrition, Food Studies and Public Health at New York University, and previously the senior nutrition policy advisor in the Department of Health and Human Services) and Susan Blum, MD (Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and is the Founder of the Blum Center for Health).
Nina Planck discussing food for mother and baby and her personal journey from a restrictive “virtuous diet” to a inclusive, real foods lifestyle and how her work with Farmer’s Markets inspired her.
Joy Bauer providing her answers to our often-asked health questions: Which sweetener is best? How to lose belly fat? What’s the easiest way to determine portion size?
The contrast between Neal Barnard’s research into a vegan plant-based lifestyle and the return to traditional, whole foods suggested by Nina Planck.
Surprise guest, vegan and ultra-marathoner Brendan Brazier’s heartfelt gratitude for our work – creating a healthier world.
The aroma of Terry Walters’ recipes prepared simply, on stage!
Alissa Vitti speaking candidly about women’s health issues, sex drive and hormones.
Asking the questions that get us answers and make the changes possible!
Throughout the day we heard from graduates, students and staff who have transformed their own lives and created a ripple effect of health and wellness in their communities – as close as New York and as far away as Israel.
Between speakers practical coaching exercises challenged us each to step ask the high-mileage questions, communicate our purpose and intention and get clear on our purpose within this practice.
If you came thinking you were just going to sit and listen – you were in for a surprise! Along with the partner interactions IIN once again created a lovely mix of stillness and action, effort and effortless. Yoga, meditation, dancing and even Indian-infused exercise!
Balle Balle! This weekend was all about stepping into our own power, creating lasting, positive changes and playing BIG! Asked during Saturday’s yoga practice: If you had a limitless supply of confidence, what would you do?
On Sunday I stepped onto stage to be recognized for receiving the Health Leadership Award. Blessed and grateful to be a part of this amazing community! Read more about my work and the HLA award here.
What’s holding you back from living at your full potential?
Our lives are full and satisfying when we rise to our potential, exceed our expectations and play BIG!
“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure…
than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much,
because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”
