It's that time of year again! Soon little princesses, ghouls, ghosts and cartoon creeps will be arriving at our door step in search of Halloween treats...
Our family is hosting a Halloween craft and costume event for a few friends. We're excited to break out the goodies, bake up some wickedly delicious treats and turn our yard into a devilishly fun playground.
We'll also be stocking up on a few of our favorite Gluten-Free treats for the event. I thought I'd share a few of our favorites. ***Please feel free to link back to this post to share these tips and trick-or-treats with others.
A favorite local vendor, Whale Tail Chips offers several delicious varieties of Gluten-Free corn chips lightly salted with Hawaiian Alaea Sea Salt. Mix the light orange BBQ (Dairy-Free) and black Tor-Chia chips together for a screamin' Halloween snack in a flash.
One of our new favorite online stores is the Natural Candy Store. Their motto is "Absolutely NO artificial colors or dyes, NO artificial flavors, NO artificial sweeteners, NO preservatives, NO hydrogenated oils!" We are thrilled to find a source for occasional, celebratory treats that add to all of the delicious fun and do not include any of these unnecessary additives.
Visit their Special Diets page for ideas and products that even the most sensitive little goblin and ghoul can eat. There are options for Vegan, Gluten-Free, Allergen-Free, Feingold, Gluten-Free and Cassein-Free, Corn Syrup-Free and Kosher. Whew! With so many choices we could do some serious damage - so remember that just because it's allergen or gluten-free, does NOT mean it's necessarily healthy. These are still candies and should be consumed in moderation.
We love that Natural Candy Store even offers a "Strict Gluten-Free" guideline for products as well as a "No Gluten Ingredients" list. We'll be ordering from the Strictly Gluten-Free list this year. We cannot wait for our Invisible Ghost Lollipops, Trick-or-Treat Natural Candy Mix, Organic Strawberry Licorice Laces and Sweet and Sour Gummy Worms arrive! Natural Candy Store even carries individually wrapped Gluten-Free chocolates - perfect for handing out on All Hallow's Eve.
I feel in love with this delicious looking Halloween Pizza on Beyond Candy Corn. This could be easily adapted using a Gluten-Free crust or frozen pizza.
Feeling adventurous? If the urge to 'Eat, Drink and Be Scary' takes over this time of year, you'll find plenty of howling-good ideas at Food Network. I'll be sharing more about our own festive plans for our pumpkin carving seed treats.
With these resource you'll be prepared for any creature who shows up at your doorstep on Halloween:-)
