Skinny Dipping - Chipotle Dip Recipe {Dairy-Free)

Lately I've been searching for just the right dairy-free dip to dress up our sandwiches and wraps and to serve with deliciously crisp raw Spring veggies.

When I went looking it was hard to find anything without a soy or dairy base...and then while enjoying my coconut yogurt, an idea arrived. What about substituting coconut yogurt instead? Greek yogurt is a wonderful alternative option from traditional mayonnaise bases. Now with thick, rich, coconut yogurt varieties, I personally think these dips rival mayonnaise as a topping for sandwiches, wraps and yes, even burgers. This may just be the perfect dairy-free dip!

These dips are full of protein, just as delicious as mayo, and offer a neutral base that easily adapts to your favorite flavors. Perfect for a picnic, weekend BBQ or to dress up a simple family meal at home.

Serve with fresh carrot sticks and raw spring veggies (such as Green Beans) or as a topping for your favorite recipe. I'll be sharing a range of delicious, coconut yogurt-based Skinny Dips over the next few weeks.

Today I'm sharing a Chipotle chile version of our Skinny Dip. Chipotle peppers, a smoked variety of jalapenos, are often a key ingredient in Tex-Mex. These peppers infuse each dish with a warm, smoky spiciness and a whole load of wonderful health benefits. You will find Chipotle peppers canned or dried in your market, often on the Mexican foods section. Dried Chipotle peppers may be soaked in very hot water until soft, then chopped and added to your recipe.

When Chipotle peppers are ground and combined with other spices this marinade is referred to as an Adobo sauce. These stewed Chipotle peppers in Adobo sauce are so versatile and can be added to almost anything from breads and pastas to rice, beans, meats, fish and yes, even dips and dressings. We've added our homemade Adobo sauce to this recipe for its delicious, spicy, smoky, warmth. Learn how to make your own quick homemade Adobo sauce.

I hope you'll come back and let us know how you went Skinny Dipping!
